This Week: Oct. 25, 2007- New member Mark Johnson will give his classification/vocational talk.  SVCC, 11:45 a.m.

Oct 18, 2007Twenty-six Rotarians and guests were present to hear Ben Haskins describe the work of the Linn Land and Waterway Conservancy. Named after Attorney Merrill Linn, founded in 1988, the Conservancy now holds easements on 650 acres in Union and upper Northumberland Counties.  They can now hold easements in Snyder Ct. as well.  The work of the conservancy is led by a volunteer board from a “workers” base of about 300.  Mr. Haskins is the only employee and he is p/t in that position.  His previous work was with World Vision, engaged in anti-poverty work.  The video describing the work of the Conservancy was very informative and those present asked many questions.  Fred Johnson introduced his guests, history teacher Truly Walters-Zimmerman, who in turn introduced student of the month, Kirsten Krebs.  Kristen is a member of the 20 and 0 field hockey team, track team, honor society, takes mission trips with her church, and is an applicant to Yale where she plans to study pre-med
