This Week: April 10, 2008 – Michael Damiano will speak about the mission trip he made to
April 3, 2008 – Thirty-one Rotarians were present for this quarters Club Assembly. President John inducted Shane Hendricks as a member of the Club. Each Avenue of Service group met and reported as follows: Club Service (John Stokinger reporting) – Determine how Club will maintain quality weekly programs (a committee or the president?); Web site development and Club Communications (continue combination of snail and e-mail, perhaps add link to web site); work on attendance percentage. International Service (Konrad Kempfe reporting) – this year shelter box, Panama Mission, Ecuador potable water project, and GSE Team visit are the highlights. Vocational Service (Tom Gates reporting) – perhaps expand Free Enterprise Week funding; invite Jack Bohn to discuss SUN Vo Tech program and do a tour; perhaps tour Penn Lyon Homes and Sunbury Generation in the new year. Community Service (Ken Miller reporting) – in process yet this spring are the Distinguished Service Award, the June 7 Chicken Barbeque and Little League Tournament; SSDC for 2nd year; developing Rotary Field for international play with much help from Shane Hendricks (electronic score board, fencing extension, etc. Shane will need additional help between 4/14 and 24. Art Bowen project of having each Chair write a description of work for the sake of the future. Rotary Foundation goal will continue at $100 per member.

Sergeant At Arms: Marv Rudnitsky collected fines as follows: from Ken Miller (Happy Birthday sung); himself (for Joyce Anderson’s return); Joyce (for successful eye surgeries); John Fischer (for Shane); Hal Dunkelberger (attendance today); Konrad Kempfe (Germany trip); Nelson Bailey (happy to have Konrad back); Chris Kenawell (family good news); Tom Gatess (Myrtle Beach trip and good golf despite some people’s handicaps); Paul and Judy Spiegel (happy to be back, daughter’s wrestling career, and Williamsburg vacation); Don Summers (late); Mike Hayes (PETS and SSDC fund raising); Earl Ferster (plus $25); and Charlie McCuen (round up to $30 and buying a new house).
