Club Members who are veterans are asked to sit at the center table for special recognition of service. Postponed from 11/6, the Nominations Committee is to present complete slate for 09-10 Officers and Directors, and Selinsgrove Rec., Inc. members. Board Meeting follows the regular meeting. Nov. 6, 2008 – Twenty-nine Rotarians and guests were present to hear Steve Richard, CEO of SUN Home Health and Hospice, describe the development of the SUN Home Hospice Care Center on the third floor at Sunbury Community Hospital.  He was introduced by Jan Wilson, Lewisburg Sunrise Club and winner of this year’s Athena Award. This is designed as an inpatient hospice unit that will provide a comfortable alternative for Hospice patients who are experiencing issues in pain and symptom control or who are in need of respite care.  Designed to feel home-like, the plan includes a place for family members to stay as long as 24 hours a day.  It is anticipated that the state will be signing off on the plans sometime today, so renovations can begin.  It will cost about $600,000 to complete and it is hoped that it can be opened early in 2009. Support is sought both financially and for volunteers.  President Mike introduced new member Jennifer Johnston, and guests Pat Pinkowski and Norm Hessel (John Fischer’s friend).  Art Bowen presented John Stokinger with his “I’ve got mine” sticker.  Making dreams real examples included the election, Jan Wilson’s Athena Award, and more.
