Feb. 12, 2009 – Twenty-four Rotarians were present to hear Sunbury Rotarian Catherine Teisher describe her work as Executive Director of Haven Ministry, Inc. Recent renovations have improved the kitchen, laundry, and dining facilities, in addition to renovating the 6 family rooms and the two dormitory rooms for 8 singles. Funded privately through the

United Way

, local churches and individuals, Haven is able to impose strict rules since residents are guests rather than tenants.  Residents must be seeking employment actively, children must attend school and do homework, life skills such as budgeting are taught to prepare people to return to the “outside” world successfully. Leo Mendonca’s program will be rescheduled.  Joyce Andeson’s example of the 4 Way Test made real, was Cathy’s willingness to step in when Leo’s computer problems prevented his being able to do the program today.  Rotary anniversaries: Mary Peterhaensel, 3 years; Don Harnum, 7 years; Ken Miller, 37 years. Polio Plus Globe increased by $25 while with Ken Miller and the Miller Agency.  New members present today: Bill Clark and Pat Pinkowski.
