Mar. 26, 2009 – Thirty plus members and guests were present as John Bohn spoke of his work at the SUN Area Vocational and Technical School.  Retiring after 37 years as a teacher and Administrative Director, Jack spoke about the changes from the days of manual labor to today’s diagnostic technology and professional certifications. The name of the school will change this fall to the SUN Area Technical Institute to reflect both the diagnostic technology changes and the fact that 40% of the students now go on for either two or four year baccalaureate degrees.  In introducing Jack, President Michael spoke of all of the ways in which the work of Jack and his staff make dreams real for young people in the valley. Dottie Anderson introduced Chelsea Lepore to the members.  She is applying for the Ambassadorial Scholarship and needs our endorsement to go on to the District level.  A junior at SU, Chelsea is pursuing a double major in Communications-Secondary Education and Theatre.
