June 4, 2009 – Thirty plus Rotarians and guests were present to here Richard Smith, Chief Operating Officer of Evangelical Community Hospital, speak about the strategic planning process that has led to identifying key initiatives for growth and or change/elimination in the services of the hospital. Over time we will see growth in cardiovascular services, orthopedic care, women’s health, and new physicians: ENT, Spine surgeon, vascular surgeon. Home Health will transition from the hospital to another agency, as will the home health pharmacy. Mr. Smith was introduced by his colleague and Rotarian, Kendra Aucker. He is originally from
Announcements: June 6 (this Saturday) is the Little League Tournament and Chicken Barbeque – please report number of unsold tickets to Bob or Earl by noon Saturday so they know how many can be sold to persons withouth tickets. While a sign up sheet has been circulated, more help is still needed on the 6th. *Mike Damiano reminds us it is EREY time before the end of June – we are at $3550 so far.**Konrad Kempfe circulated information from the Wheel Chair Foundation and has a book written by the founder Ken Behring to share.
