August 13,  2009 – Approximately 50 Rotarians and guests were present for this special event as we hosted 15 students from Japan’s Senshu University, three Susquehanna interns and Program Coordinator, Mimi Rice. Mimi has worked with the program since ’93.  Susquehanna’s exchange agreement with Senshu began in 1986. Each of the students introduced themselves and then one of the students addressed the gathering.  Mimi Rice provided background and introduced Rachel Mrtin and Kathy Martin who are working with the students.  The students entertained us with a popular Japanese song with the theme of keep on believing and don’t give up. Questions and answers followed with Rotarians who have visited in Japan sharing about that experience.  The students are here for three weeks, staying with host families for one week. John  Thompson, a former Bloomsburg Rotarian was also present.
