June 10, 2010: Thirty-two Rotarians and guests were present for this program hosted by Jerry Rhoades and featuring Mike Slease, President of the Northumberland Historical Society and living history participant in French & Indian War reenactments. Mike shared his extensive knowledge about the founding and building of Fort Augusta in 1756, reading portions of original letters from persons who lived through the experiences. All are invited to visit the new Fort Augusta Museum in Sunbury. Other guests included Richard Grubb (Marv Rudnitsky’s guest) and Maria Brandt (Tom Gates guest). VP Donna Schuck presided. Joyce Anderson presented Bob Fogle with a large candy bar in recognition of his 30th anniversary as a Selinsgrove Rotarian.
Announcements: Bob Fogle asked all to report on ticket sales and to sign up to work at the Chicken Barbeque. Workers especially needed in the late afternoon.*Movie Night on the Commons officially begins tonight at dusk.
Sergeant at arms: Marv Rudnitsky collected fines as follows: Happy Birthday to Richard Grubb; and from Mike Flock (wife’s bd); John Stokinger (Ohio trip and unclaimed money now claimed); Mike Hayes (for Fred Johnson’s tenure as superintendent, movie night, SSDC start, RI conference trip); John Fischer (not playing golf in the rain, RI trip); Tom Gates (guest); Bob Soper (Richard Grubb); Ken Miller (prairie dog hunt); Jerry Rhoades (speaker); Nelson Bailey (wife’s trip and return with inlaws); Fred Johnson (last time here in appreciation of good years); Donna Schuck (Fred and Mike and graduations); Marv Rudnitsky (Fred); and Earl Ferster (Fred, living 4 way test, and plus 15).
