Next Meeting:  Emily Johnson will speak about Gov. Simon Snyder and the historic monument in Sharon Cemetery – 11:45 a.m., SVCC.

July 1, 2010: 25 members were present to hear Art Bowen describe the housing developments that are taking place in Monroe Twp.  Three separate developments have been planned and work has begun on all three.   R & L Construction Company of Harrisburg has begun site development for Oakwood Grove, a 96 unit complex.  The first units will be done in November.  Monroe Manor II will have approximately 100 units when finished.  The third development is right on

Mill Road

adjacent to Oakwood Grove.  That site will offer higher priced townhouses than the other two developments.  Art noted that there is a demand for these kinds of units as more people look to downsize and have maintenance free properties.
