Dec. 23, 2010: Twenty-seven Rotarians were in attendance for a presentation by Susanna Falck and PDG Carl Askew about District 7370’s 10 years of water projects in Ecuador and the new projects to be undertaken in Nicaragua. Konrad Kempfe introduced the program and served as host. Projects in Ecuador have included senior centers, schools, rehabilitation centers, day care centers, and prisons. Finding way to provide potable water in rural areas has improved school attendance and health in general. A former seminary is now being renovated and will within a year provide a place for training and housing volunteers. Susanna and some other Rotarians will be visiting in Nicaragua in February in order to identify locations for water projects to occur over the next three years. The Club received a thank you note from Mary Seiler for the flowers sent to her while she was in Health South.
