Feb. 17, 2011:  Back at the SVCC, thirty-five plus Rotarians and guests were present as Michael Hayes presented a special program about the Summer SEALS Day Camp. Principal Terry Heintzelman and Counselor Holly Morgan took part, with Dottie Anderson reading a report written by teacher Melissa Urey.  The SSDC Board was pleased to announce the start of a pass through account with the Selinsgrove Area Community Foundation. Mike Flock, Jeff Edmunds, Art Bowen and John Fischer accepted a check on behalf of the SACF. Additional guests: SSDC Board Member Mike Coyne, State Representative Fred Keller (introduced by Hal Schriver), an 85th District team member, Ben Rank (introduced by Representative Keller), about to be new member Bruce Marian, and visiting Rotarian Jan Wilson. Bob Soper reported that Jack Roush is undergoing further evaluation. A Rotary Club Board meeting followed.

 Announcements: Club is considering hosting members of the GSE Team visiting from the Philippines in April. Please let President  John know asap if you would be willing to host a team member or coordinate the vocational visits the week of 4/10 or 4/19. If no hosts step forward, we will be unable to participate in the District program. *The Distinguished Service Award, given annually to a non-Rotarian, will be presented on Thursday, April 14. Please send nominations (a one page letter stating your reasons for recommending the person or organization) to Joyce Anderson, 41 Greenbrier Ave., Selinsgrove, PA. 17870 by March 1st. Recipients must live or work in the Selinsgrove area and have demonstrated community and charitable service.**Daffodil Day sales order form circulated by Jerry Rhoads, they will be distributed 3/17.***President acknowledged the return of members Jennifer Johnston and Shane Hendricks.

ergeant at arms: Jeff Edmunds collected fines as follows: from Art Bowen (40th anniversary, Jan Wilson and other guests); Mike Flock (SEALS program and guests); John Fischer  (2nd anniversary of 1st date with Gail and good Community Foundation meeting this a.m.); Mike Hayes (guest speakers, Mike Coyne, Fred Keller, Jane WilsonJ); John Stokinger (6 year old grandson for the weekend); Hal Dunkleberger (Dad and Rotary); Chad Cohrs (back and guests); and Jeff Edmunds (back from Florida and “in tents” joke, guests and crowd).
