from Susquehanna present – David McLaughlin and Valerie Allison-Roan) were
present for a presentation by Jo Mueller of Home Instead Senior Care. Marv
Rudnitsky served as host and VP Wesley Knapp presided. Founded by Paul and
Laurie Hogan 18 years ago, Home Instead is now an international company
specialized in providing non-medical services to seniors that enable them to
stay in their homes. Workers are licensed, bonded and fully trained to offer
such services as light housekeeping, bathing, grooming, etc. at a cost of
$18.50 per hours with a three hour minimum, up to 14/7 care at $160 for ten
hours.Clearly a less expensive option
then most nursing homes, and working with the Area Agency on Aging, this is a
valuable service. In addition, they are sponsors of community programs such as
a Shredding Party (8/12 in the parking lot of the Lewisburg CVS located along
Rt. 15), annual collection of unused medicines, and the be a Santa to a senior
program.
