August 11, 2011: Twenty-two Rotarians were present for Wesley Knapp’s classification
talk. Wes has had a 51 year career in education, starting as a teacher when he
was 19. A “farm boy” from NY State, he married his sister’s college roommate 48
years ago, and they have a daughter (who is a professor at Geneseo) and a son
who is an engineer.
Following a 30 plus year career in NY State, Wes has
also been an administrator in Alaska and Bennington, Vermont before coming to
Mid-West as Superintendent. It is clear that he loves what he does and cares to
be a positive influence in the life of students.
A Board of Directors meeting followed.

is the date for the SACF/Rotary Golf Tournament, more information available
from John Fischer. Proceeds this year will be split between the SACF and the
Library Capital Campaign.*SAVE THE DATE: New Member Orientation will be held at
the home of Karen and Art Bowen, 20 Meadowbrook Drive, on Sept. 26, 2011 at 7
p.m.; Bob Soper has copies of two good Rotary publications – the ABC’s of
Rotary for new members and a “Getting Started” pamphlet for prospective
Rotarians.; Pat circulated the District Newsletter.
