September 1, 2011: Good fellowship abounded as 30 Rotarians and a guest
(Melissa Lauer Laniewski, a realtor with Bowen Agency) were present for
Anniversary Day hosted by Joyce Anderson, Club Service Avenue of Service
Director).The Club has 51 members who
together have given 577 years of service. September is our best month for
numbers of new members. Each member was recognized for years of membership,
with highlights including acknowledgement with flowers for 30 year plus members
Hal Dunkleberger, Earl Ferster, Bob Fogle, Marv Rudnitsky, Hal Schriver, Ken
Miller and Bob Soper (with 42 years in the Selinsgrove Rotary Club).

Good News of Rotary: Konrad Kempfe shared information about a large potable
water project in Ghana, co-sponsored by Rotary and USAid.
Sergeant at arms: Marv Rudnitsky collected fines as follows: from Dottie Anderson (Irene
in NJ story); Mike Flock (daughter in Kill Devil Hills and not evacuating);
Kevin Waple (Nags Head vacation before Irene); Don Harnum (9 years in Rotary,
East Snyder Park progress, clear bill of health); Jennifer Johnston (school
open, 3 yr. member, progress on library building); John Fischer (Sheri
Hoffman’s assistance and work, Golf Committee); John Stokinger (Rutland, VT
friends ok despite isolation caused by flooding and 30 years a Rotarian); Sheri
Hoffman (back and being ED for new endeavor); Wesley Knapp (back and concern
for NY and VT damage); Toby Skinner (Jake enjoying Army experience); Ken Miller
(not being thrown out and sister in law’s good news); Bob Soper (Vi’s Eagle
siting, and still being able to be a Rotarian); Art Bowen (Melissa, Joyce’s
efforts on program, Bob Soper, granddaughter’s athletic success); and Earl
Ferster (no one lost a loved one in storm and all the good fellowship).
