October 27, 2011: 30 members and guests were in attendance to hear Chad Cohrs, Superintendent of the Selinsgrove School District, Chris Lupolt, head boys soccer coach and Dave Hess head football coach talk about sports at Selinsgrove High School.  With 570 student athletes, over 60% of all high school students participate in school sports programs. From an administrative perspective or a coaches perspective, sports programs are more about the development of individuals than win/loss records.  The soccer program has been in the playoffs for 19 out of the last 20 years.  The football program is having a tough year, but historically has been a conference powerhouse and were even State Champions a few years ago.  Each coach expressed what a privilege it’s been to coach and mentor student athletes over the years.  Both coaches love being able to see how their student athletes have succeeded in their post high school lives.
