December 1, 2011: Twenty-seven Rotarians
were present for Peggy and Bryan Rynearson’s talk on “Isagenix” – a program of
weight loss/wellness products.John
Fischer was the host. The purpose of the products is to “free people from
physical” pain and increase vitality. Signup sheet was circulated for the 12/15
evening Dinner and Christmas Party – guests welcome – so please put onyour calendar and plan to attend a wonderful
evening of Rotary fellowship.

Gates and Konrad Kempfe are thanked for helping with set up for Tree Fest (a
few more folks would have been appreciated – please keep in mind for next year.
The Rotary tree is based on Mouse Soup by Arnold Lobel and will be
decorated this afternoon by Pat Pinkowski, Dottie Anderson and Toby Skinner. *President
Pat reported on the 11/21 Dictionary Distribution, which was well received by
the third graders.**No meeting will be held 12/29. Club will meet at BJ’s in Jan.,
Feb. and March.***Hal Schriver circulated a signup sheet for the 36 two person
shifts needed for Salvation Army Bell Ringing.**** Joyce Anderson reported on
our Christmas Family of 4, with an 18 month old boy and 6 year old girl. This
family lost all of their belongings in the flood. If you purchase gifts on your
own, please give them to Joyc OR give Joyce money for the purchase of clothing,
toys, a tree and household items.

 

Good News of Rotary: Konrad reported on a project from the Waterloo, Iowa Club
providing support to the city of Chinandega, Nicaragua following the Hurricane
Mitch disaster. The ongoing project includes vocational training at six
schools, school meals and scholarships designed to break the cycle of poverty
for the extremely poor.

 

Sergeant at arms: Marv Rudnitsky collected
fines as follows: himself (border collie’s arrival); Mike Flock (daughter’s
birthday), Joyce Anderson (speaker and grandson’s first badge); Konrad Kempfe
(FL trip); Mike Damiano (25 for Thanksgiving); Art Bowen (late and family
Thanksgiving that included granddogs); Bill Clark (great Thanksgiving with two
turkeys needed); Pat Pinkowski (family Thanksgiving with no dogs); John Fischer
(23 for Thanksgiving); Mike Piecuch (Thanksgiving at in-laws); Nelson Bailey
(family home for Thanksgiving, Kiev mother-in-law arrives Sunday); Bob Soper (a
different Thanksgiving); Sheri Hoffman (cooking her first turkey); Toby Skinner
(distributing dictionaries and being “called out” by her granddaughter); and
Earl Ferster (+15 and successful deer hunt).
