Next Meeting: Dec. 15, 2011– Rotary Christmas Party,
with entertainment provided by ventriloquist Patrick Alvarez. Art Bowen is the

you’ve missed signing up and wish to attend.
December 8, 2011: Thirty-none Rotarians
and guests (too many for the editor to catch the names) were present for this
special program featuring Michael Guman, former LA Ram and Penn State Alum.
Michael Damiano was the host for this event held in the Fireplace Room.Mr. Guman shared stories from his days as an
athlete at Penn State, citing events and people who have been influential in
his life. The 1979 Sugar Bowl story, picture on the cover of Sports
Illustrated, with the picture becoming a wall size mural at Alabama, still
influences his life today with folks sending him copies of the cover to be
autographed. He was drafted by the LA Rams in 1980, retiring from the NFL in
1988.All in attendance appreciated his
candor and reflections on the recent events at Penn State. He continues to hold
Joe Paterno in high regard, and regrets how events unfolded in these
circumstances. A brief Board Meeting followed. With regret, the Board accepted
the resignations of Justin Troup and Shane Hendricks.
