December 15, 2011: Thirty-six Rotarians
and guests were present for the Club’s Christmas Party and tribute in memory of
Jack Roush. Hosted by Art Bowen, the program featured entertainment by eleven
year old ventriloquist, Patrick Alvarez, with President Pat Pinkowski presiding
and Earl Ferster providing the invocation. Guests of note included Patrick’s
parents, Nicole and Rick and his sister, Greenly; Mary Seiler who prints and
sends the newsletter; and Jack’s widow, Dottie Roush. Patrick’s characters
included Mortimer Snerd, Danny, Knucklehead Orange, and Wrinkles. This is a
talented young man with quite a bright future.
The 131 Club will hold “A
Holiday Ball” buffet dinner-dance on Friday, December 30 at the Sunbury Social
Club, beginning with a social hour at 5:30 and featuring music by the Vic Boris
Trio. Cost per couple is $60. To make a reservation, send a check payable to
“The 131 Club” to Matthew and Sharon Silberman, 305 Verna Rd., Lewisburg, PA
17837. Reservations need to be made by Dec. 20. Call Pat Pinkowski if you have
questions.

Joyce Anderson has received $300 toward
purchase of gifts, clothing and household items for our Christmas Family of 4
(including an 18 month old boy and 6 year old girl). This family lost all of
their belongings in the flood. If you have purchased items on your own, please
give them to Joyce for delivery to the family.
