February 23, 2012: Thirty Rotarians were in attendance for a
presentation by State Representative Fred Keller. Bill Clark was the host. In
introducing Representative Keller, Bill pointed it out that Fred is unopposed
in the next election. Rep. Keller spoke about his intent to listen to his
constituents, read every piece of legislation, research any questions, show up
to vote, meet with constituents prepared to say why he voted as he did.
Legislation he spoke about included the budget, bill on no texting while
driving, and Marcellus Shale impact fees. It is clear that Rep. Keller
understands need to cooperate across the aisle and to think incrementally and
pragmatically. Earl Ferster circulated the order sheet for Daffodil Days – they
will be distributed on 3/22 and any unclaimed will be taken to Grayson View.
Bob Soper and John Stokinger spoke about the District Conference and urged
attendance at some or all of the meeting. President Pat introduced new members
Jared Roush and Dave Lawer.
