June 28, 2012: Twenty-six Rotarians and a guest (Donna’s husband, Rick Schuck) were in
attendance as the 2012-13 Officers and Directors were installed. A Paul Harris
Fellow was awarded to Jeff Edmunds. Dottie Anderson served as installing
officer, and those unable to attend today were installed inabsentia. Outgoing
president Pinkowski shared reflections on the year and cited many of the
accomplishments, including exceeding goals for new members and attendance
percentage. Donn Schuck shared her goals related to several new endeavors (new
District, development of New Generations Avenue of Service, Co chairs for
Community Service, with John Stokinger heading fund raising events and Melissa
Laniewski heading service events. Donna and Art Bowen presented flowers and a
gift to Joyce Anderson in recognition of all she has done as Director for Club
Service. Donna also presented Pat with a past president pin and gift in
recognition of her accomplishments during the 2011-12 Rotary year.

Good News from Rotary: Konrad Kempfe spoke about Districts in Austria
that hosted two Rotarians and 24 students from Japan who had been impacted by
the 2011 earthquake and tsunami.

AnnouncementsPresident Pat thanked the four real and
nine virtual riders who participated in the
Polio Plus Bike Ride. In addition to providing water and snacks at
Rotary field, the club presented a $1000 check for Polio Plus. S he also
thanked Michael Hayes, John Stokinger, Donna Schuck and Melissa Laniewski for
their work making Savor Selinsgrove a success.* Movie Night on Rotary Field
will occur the 2nd and 4th Thursdays from June through
August at dusk. Mike Piecuch and
Dave Lawer are co-chairing this Rotary initiative and invite each Rotarian to
come out for each of these fun-filled, community-building times for fellowship
with family, friends and neighbors.** Earl Ferster will need assistance on 7/24
at the Gazebo for Hot Dog Night sponsored by Rotary. Future Rotary events areAug. 18th, Carnival Night at
Rotary Field. and October 20th, Rotary is to have a stand at
KidsGrove event.***Art Bowen has assigned program dates to all members – please
see him if you are not getting e-mail.

John Stokinger (bike ride and savor Selinsgrove); Mike Flock (positive
experience at new urgent care center); John Fischer (late): Tom Gates (trip);
Sheri Hoffman (Lewisburg High win);Joyce Anderson (President Pat’s year); Art Bowen (no pin, Joyce and
Pat); Dave Lawer (Bob Soper chart and Mike Piecuch to the rescue); Pat
Pinkowski (enjoyed the year and thanks); Donna Schuck (husband and thanks to
past and new officers and directors); Hal Dunkelberger (Earl Ferster and Gazebo
night);Konrad Kempfe (Pat’s leadership);
Charlie McCuen (crepes and 5th anniversary); Bob Soper (cruise and
help at cabin); Nelson Bailey (Pat’s leadership and his crops); Earl Ferster
(Pat, his wife’s birthday, and +15).

July 19 – Dr. Michael Hayes, Ryan McGuire
and Lauren Hoover, Co-Directors, will present a program on the Summer SEALS Day

Adams will be the speaker. SVCC, 11:45 a.m.
