Nov. 15, 2012: Twenty Rotarians were present as Art Bowen led a Veterans Day Recognition
Program and spoke about the origin and history of Taps. Art also installed new to
our Club member, Jeffrey Schaum, CFO Kreamer Feeds, assisted by Jeff’s sponsor,
John Fischer.President Donna conducted the Annual Meeting and election of 2012-13
officers/directors. There were no nominations from the floor. The following
slate was elected with no negative votes: President – Wesley Knapp; President
Elect – Chad Cohrs; Vice President – Dave Lawer; Treasurer – Jared Roush;
Secretary – Hal Dunkleberger; Past President – Donna Schuck; Avenues of Service
Directors: Club – Art Bowen; Community – John Stokinger and Melissa Laniewski;
Vocational – Toby Skinner; International – Konrad Kempfe. A Board of Directors
meeting followed.

 

Announcements: The first annual meeting of the Snyder County Coalition for Kids will
be Dec. 14 at Susquehanna University from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.*In the absence of
hosts for an inbound exchange student, we will not participate this time
around.*Dottie Anderson presented a $100 check from Beds for a Cause guests at Barb
and Michael Hayes’ house this past weekend, Family Weekend at SU.**The Club
will meet at the Country Club all January and February.***With regret, the
Board accepted Don Harnum’s resignation.****Sheri Hoffman circulated an updated
booklet for guests and proposed members.

 

Good News of Rotary International: Konrad Kempfe reported on the work of a Club in
Turkey who provided bathrooms and sanitation facilities at an elementary school
and assisted the children in learning good health habits.

 

Sergeant at arms: Konrad Kempfe collected happy fines from: Happy Birthday Art Bowen (also
for Jeff’s induction, veterans, and his son having power again); Ken Miller
(Colorado hunting trip); Hal Dunkleberger (leaving early); Dave Lawer (veterans
and renovated and expanded library); John Fischer (Joyce’s good work, Gail
home, and Jeff); Wes Knapp (Dwight for his service above self); Jerry Rhoades
(Williamsburg trip); Donna Schuck (veterans and Art’s Birthday); Joyce Anderson
(everyone’s support of Children and Youth Christmas project); Charlie McCuen
(Friends of the Library and Art’s birthday) and Konrad Kempfe (paying ahead for
bad joke).
