Dec. 13, 2012: With Sheri Hoffman as the host, forty Rotarians,
partners and guests were present for the Club’s Holiday Tribute and Dinner,
with entertainment provided by Michelle Kelly, flutist, a senior music major at
Susquehanna. Dottie Anderson presented a Service Above Self Distinguished
Service award to Bob Fogle for his years of devotion to Club Service, as the
prime mover behind the Chicken Barbeque and the Market Street Festival. In the
Club’s 75th anniversary booklet, Bob is cited as “the master
organizer.” In addition, he is a past president and his business, Temple
Products, through the work of Mary Seiler, has printed and sent out the weekly
Rotary Newsletter. Flowers were presented to Bob’s wife, Abby, and to Mary
Seiler with sincere thanks from the members of the Club for her work on our
behalf. Wes Knapp provided the invocations, President Schuck presided and
thanked all members and their partners for the work done by the Club throughout
the year. The President also recognized Sheri Hoffman for all her work in
setting up the special program. Table arrangements went to the person at the
table with the birthday closest to Christmas.


Announcements: We will meet at the SVCC throughout January and
.*Melissa Laniewski is coordinating signup for Salvation Army Bell
Ringing. One more date: Dec. 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 3 in front of Smokers
Express. The kettle was present at this event and Konrad Kempfe urged members
to sign up to work on the 15th and to donate to the kettle.**Be sure
to stop by Tree Fest and see the Rotary tree based on The Legend of Johnny
before it is taken town this Saturday.***As we prepare to enter a
new year, PLEASE, check the Club Calendar to see when you are host of the
program and keep in mind that it is helpful to everyone for the Editor to be
able to publish the names of speakers at least four weeks ahead.
