Sara Lawver (Brian Neitz’s guest from the United Way) were present as Joyce
Anderson hosted Membership Recognition Day. Six Rotarians were given roses in
recognition of their years of membership and service – Bob Soper (44 years for
this third generation Rotarian); Ken Miller (41); Marv Rudnitsky (37); Bob
Fogle (33); and Earl Ferster and Hal Dunkleberger (32 years). Joyce provided
candy bars and ice cream for all of us in recognition of the better than 6000
years of membership represented in the Club. A Board of Directors Meeting
followed.
Announcements: A
second Rotarian needs to step up to take the grants training before August in
order for us to be eligible to apply for RI grants.*Mike Damiano
reminds members of the EREY Challenge.**Rotary Hot Dog Night at the Gazebo is
July 9 – volunteers are need to assist at the event. Contact Earl Ferster.***Dave
Lawer reported on the April fund raiser for the Dental Clinic, with $6000
raised with half of the auto dealerships reporting to date.**** Rotary Field
Movie Nights will be held on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of
the month during the summer.*****Work needed at Rotary Field has been
authorized by the Board – $800 for three new doors and contracting work to fix
sewer lines. Thanks to Ken Miller for all his work on the field.

Kempfe shared information about Tony and Amy Riggio, Rotarians from Westport,
CT and their work with Builder Beyond Borders, a non profit that is work for
sustainable water solutions in Latin America.

Rudnitsky collected happy fines as follows: himself (26 guests along with 5
dogs for Memorial Day); Toby Skinner (Memorial Day rededication of the Simon
Snyder monument); John Stokinger (big 60 celebration at the Senior Center);
Brian Neitz (guest); John Fischer (speedo time at the pool); Pat Pinkowski
(grandkids big days); Jeff Schaum (tenure in the room); Sherri Hoffman (Joyce
and school out); Bill Clark (Bob Soper and good service at the airport); Bob
Soper (flowers for Vi and a random act of kindness); John Thompson (ham radio
on line encyclopedia); Mike Flock (never again attend a baby shower); Dave Lawer
(Joyce and Dottie); Art Bowen (NJ visit); John Reed (safety of family) and Earl
Ferster (+15). Editor apologies as she knows she missed some of these.
