August 8, 2013: Twenty-two Rotarians were present as Paul Williams, Selinsgrove Borough
Manager, spoke about a two current issues/projects being pursued by the
Borough. The first is an expansion of the street light program, thanks to
resources from the Selinsgrove Chamber, help from Snyder County Commissioner
Malcolm Derk, and SEDA-COG, and a Transportation Alternative Program (TAP)
$402,500 grant. Second is the Cable Franchise Fee and Agreement with Service
Electric Cablevision. The Cohen firm has helped by doing an audit which will
bring the borough $24,000 plus 8% CI, for a total of $29,000. The Council has
engaged the same firm to assist in negotiating the renewal of an agreement as
the current one expires in April, 2014. Dottie Anderson was the host and
introduced Paul citing his 20+ years of experience in municipal management and
the fact that he really “did his homework” about the community prior to his
interview. He has been manager since June of 2012.
