Communications and Technology. President Donna Schuck, presiding with District
Secretary Mary Johnston assisting. SVCC, 11:45 a.m.

Feb. 20, 2014:
Thirty Rotarians were present for Major Sharon Cupp’s presentation on the
Salvation Army. John Thompson was the host.(Note: Debbie Wolf’s presentation about Snyder County Recycling needs to
be scheduled at another time given weather forced cancellation of the 2/13
meeting.) Sharon, Pres. Elect of the Sunbury Club, has been with the Salvation
Army for about 30 years, and in Sunbury the last 7. She is responsible for
staff and programs, including the thrift store, social service programs and
ministry. She clearly sees herself as a Pastor. The needy family fund has
increased in importance to the work of the Army. Sharon is especially proud of
the summer playground program and the distribution of book bags to children.
New member installations occurred with Dottie Anderson serving as installing
officer for Rocky Baer (sponsor Mike Flock) and Don Rowe (sponsor Bob Soper).
Joyce Anderson provided beautiful bouquets, flowers and candy in celebration of
the installations.
