Feb. 27, 2014:
Thirty-one Rotarians were present for the Club Assembly on Communications and
Technology. President Donna Schuck presided with District Secretary Mary
Johnston providing information on the District’s web presence and DaCdb
(District and Club database) functions, features, and benefits. All members who
have access to a computer are asked to sign in at DaCdb.com – your e-mail
address is your user name, your Rotary ID number is your password (number can
be found on address label of Rotarian magazine), and our Club number is 5324.
Go on to the My CLUB tab and you can make changes and update your information.
P-mail was also explained. Debbie Fudrow, Area 5 Asst. DG assisted in the
presentation. Our Asst. DG, Sheri Shelbowski was also present. President Donna announced
that Gaston Carroll has agreed to serve as webmaster for our Club web site – www.selinsgroverotary.org and
Melissa Laniewski has set up the Club facebook page.
Announcements:
The Club’s speech contest will occur this evening, with Donna, Pat Pinkowski,
Mike Flock, and Marv Rudnitsky serving as judges and timers. Thanks are
extended to teacher Brittany Bunting for her work on this with the forensics
students. *3/9 8-10:30 Pancake Breakfast Fund Raiser at Pepper Tree for SSDC,
by Kayleen Long, one of the first campers. Tickets $7 per adult, kids 3 and
under free, over 3 – $5.00. See any member of the SEALS board for tickets.**New
member Rocky Baer was introduced by Joyce Anderson.***Dave Lawer is off to PETS
training Fri/Sat in Hagerstown, MD.****Donna is looking for someone interested
in being Club Chair for the RYLA program.
Good News of
Rotary: Konrad Kempfe spoke about program in Nairobi, Kenya by a group
of Clubs working to provide medical assistance to mothers and children designed
to reduce childbirth and infant death.
Sergeant of
Arms: Marv Rudnitsky collected happy fines as follows: himself (Nelson
and Harvard honor); Tom Gates (twins 7th birthday, putting Christmas
lights away, off to FL); Dave Lawer (FL last week, John Stokinger’s voice for
War on Shore, PETS and then Myrtle Beach); Joyce Anderson (Wales victory in
Rugby, and guests); Pat Pinkowski (Bill’s 70th and ADG); Wes Knapp
(Back, speakers, Bucknell win); Nelson Bailey (SU exciting win); Donna Schuck
(gusts and meeting turnout – IOU); Mary Peterhaensel (Ohio and grandkidsJ); Hal
Dunkelberger (Sec. and guests); Mike Piecuch (SU win, middle school concert,
being here); Konrad Kempfe (guests and winter games); John Stokinger (skiing
and winter is the best); Art Bowen (Myrtle Beach soon and guests); Bob Soper
(attendance); John Fischer (great golf meeting); Mike Flock (FL); and Earl
Ferster (+15 and speakers).
