April 10, 2014: Twenty-nine Rotarians and guests (including DG Sharon Benner making her second official visit, and Nani Randall of the Lewisburg Sunset Club) were in attendance as mc Marv Rudnitsky introduced Brittany Bunting-Specht, Selinsgrove High Forensics Coach, who in turn introduced the students who participated in the Cub’s 4 Way Test speech contest. Winner Hanna Domaracki gave her speech and will participate in the District Contest on 4/12. Junior Catherine Lucchi spoke about what she has gained by participation in the Forensics Club, and Senior Emily Spiegel, who will attend Bryn Mawr College in the fall, shared her pride in the development of the Club and increase in participation. There are 20 new students and 10 varsity members of the Club. The Club is largely self-funded and Brittany spoke about her delight that the Club is so supportive of the efforts and thanked Marv for serving as a volunteer “coach” for the Club this year. DG Sharon Benner shared plan for the District Conference, 4/26-27 at the Lehigh Valley Holiday Inn and urged more of our members to attend. Good News of Rotary: Konrad Kempfe spoke about the Club’s participation in the wheel chair and shelter box programs and circulated a thank you certificate from the wheel chair project.

Sergeant of Arms: Marv Rudnitsky collected happy fines as follows: Happy Brithday Bob Soper (also DG and guests); from himself (speakers and Forensics); Gaston Carroll (bike trip and good weather); Pat Pinkowski (Mom’s 90th bd celebration); Chad Cohrs (move to Selinsgrove, DG, Brittany and students); Bob Fogle (Fl trip); Dave Lawer (Gaston, Bob, and Earl meeting about barbeque fund raiser, guests, the Mastor’s); Hal Dunkelberger (DG); John Stokinger (exploration); Wes Knapp (DG, students, good weather); Konrad Kempfe (FL and opera); Jerry Rhoads (graduating from wound care center); Nani Randall (Lewisburg guest); Brittan Specht (one for each student); and Earl Ferster (+15 and DG).

May 15 – Kendra Aucker, Chair of the SACF Scholarship Comm., will introduce the winners of the Rotary/SACF scholarships for this year. Bill Clark is the host. SVCC, 11:45 a.m.
