June 26, 2014: Twenty-four Rotarians were present for the Installation of 2014-15 Officers and Directors. Dottie Anderson served as installing officer. Officers and Directors are: President, Dave Lawer; Vice-President, Gaston Carroll; President Elect, Mike Piecuch; Past President, Donna Schuck; Treasurer, Jared Roush; Secretary, Hal Dunkelberger; Club Service, Art Bowen; Community Service, Melissa Laniewski; Vocational Service, Toby Skinner; International Service, Konrad Kempfe; New Generations, Mike Flock. Installed as 87th President of the Selinsgrove Rotary, Dave Lawer shared his philosophy and vision for the Club. Anticipating a year of change in which needs expand while financial resources decline, he call’s upon all of us to “achieve a second wind” and to “stand together for the common good” as we “Light up Rotary and Selinsgrove.” He reported on the results of the survey and plans for the year such as round tables, member retention, starting meetings at noon with a “Rotary minute” on such topics as the Foundation (EREY) and Polio Plus. Meetings will conclude with a 10 minute team meeting on membership strategies. A Board Meeting preceded the regular meeting, and subsequent Board Meetings will be held on the first Thursday of the month at 11 a.m. starting with Aug. 7.

Announcements: Melissa Laniewski asked for additional help at Rotary’s Gazebo Concert night on Tuesday July 22, 7 p.m. to distribute hotdogs, water, chips. A signup sheet was circulated.*Jared R shared that we had received a $50 donation from the Susquehanna Valley Pre School for use of Rotary Field for their 5K.**Movie Night at the Rotary Field tonight – Princess Bride is the movie.***Martha’s Table sent a thank you for the donation of leftover food from the Chicken Barbeque.

Sergeant at Arms: Marv Rudnitsky collected fines as follows: Happy Birthday Pat Pinkowski (Pat added money in honor of Donna’s service and for all of the officer and directors); Joyce Anderson (Donna’s contributions to the Club); Mike Damiano (Donna); Charlie McCuen (7th anniversary this weekend); Art Bowen (Joyce and Dottie keeping him straight, fun grandkid time); Mike Piecuch (US Men’s team and Camp Cadet); Dave Lawer (incoming Board and Donna’s help); John Fischer (Rotary Golf looking forward to better second half); John Stokinger (off the Board for the first time and soccer); Mary Peterhaensel (late); Donna Schuck (new officers and giving the gavel away, and for not falling or being pushed); and Earl Ferster (Donna andplus 15).
