June 4, 2015: Twenty-two Rotarians were present to hear Margie Reier, a National MS Society group leader from Lewisburg, on the topic of Modern MS Treatment Group Therapy. John Thompson was the host. Margie described her journey with Multiple Sclerosis, which included almost 20 years before it was diagnosed. She is considered “stable” now, but must take multiple pills every day, and face times when she can’t walk, use her hands fully, or see. Modern medicine has made a real difference in diagnosing and treating MS and currently the National MS Society believes the ability to stop the progression of the disease is in sight. Margie is the leader of the Lewisburg Support Group, and is very articulate and open, with a terrific sense of humor, in describing life as someone with MS. The meeting was preceded by a 2015-16 Board of Directors Meeting. The Board has advised President Lawer regarding the flurry of e-mail relating to the possible departure of 4 Clubs from the District. He will vote no on this issue until further conversation occurs within the district and the new DG is on board. Announcements: $1888 was the net profit from the Flag program.
