Oct. 1, 2015: Twenty-six Rotarians were present for a program hosted by Ken Wagner, with Dave Lawer doing the introduction of speakers Arden Miller and Ray Swazey on the topic of the Community Garden. The Swazey family has been part of the garden since that beginning and throughout its growth into a non-profit entity on its own since 2012. During these years the $10 per 30 x 30 plot has remained the same. Trying to be as organic as possible, gardeners have provided flowers for residents of Grayson View who do flower arranging, a plant sale and a seed exchange program, and, in 2014, have donated over a 1000 lbs of food for use has such programs as Martha’s Table. Educational programs, such as pollination gardening, canning, etc. are provided each summer and are open to the public.
