 January 21, 2016:  Twenty-three Rotarians were present as Christy Ziegler, Director, described the work of Haven Ministries in Sunbury. Started in April of 1991 in a former motel, Haven currently houses 19 people, including single men or women and families. Residents are expected to participate in day to day activities and to learn life skills, as well as being actively looking for work and other housing. The average stay is now about 3 months. In addition, Haven operates a food pantry, and has provided clothing and toys to those in need. Operating on a budget of approximately $150,000 per year, the ministry is totally dependent on donations and receives no funds from the government. Feb. 4 – Helen Walter, President of the Selinsgrove Area Chamber of Commerce, is the speaker (Helen’s business is the Cottage on Pine in Selinsgrove), John Stokinger is the host, Dan Mahoney is the greeter. 11:45 a.m., SVCC.

Feb. 11 – Hospital to Home program, a Community Paramedicine Program, will be described by Nick Klose, Director of Pre-Hospital Services and Matt Myers, Paramedic. , Donna Schuck is the host. Greeter is Bob Soper. Fanny, our Exchange Student, her sister Zoe, and Britany Specht will be present. SVCC, 11:45 a.m.
