June 2, 2016: Thirty Rotarians and guests were present as Bill Braasch, Vice President of First Trust Portfolios, spoke on the topic “Reasons to Be Bullish” – Economic and Capital Market outlook for 2016. Mike Damiano was the host. To summarize, he advises getting past all of the negativity about how bad things are, and look at the math – as an economic research and investment firm, First Trust Portfolios does just that. It was interesting to be advised of the statistics and the facts that make it clear that “things aren’t as bad” and are in some ways much better than we are led to believe by what receives all the media exposure. Exchange Student Fanny Mayeur, her host family sister, Maddie, and Club Counselor Raven Rudnitsky were in attendance and each had a chance to share what the year has meant to them. Fanny will be going to university in Belgium and will be studying architecture. A Board of Directors Meeting preceded this meeting.
