June 9, 2016: Twenty-four Rotarians were in attendance as PDG Karen Teichman, E(ndowment) M(ajor) G(iving) A(divisor), spoke about the Rotary Foundation Endowment Century Celebration, occurring through 2017. She presented Michael Damiano with a five sapphire Paul Harris Pin in recognition of this donations to the Foundation. Started by Arch Klumpf, the fund is now over one billion and continues to do good works around the world. Of special interest is the Polio Plus project with is close to success with only 16 known cases this year. Members are challenged to contribute $26.50 (or more) during 2017, in recognition of the amount of the first donation given to the fund 100 years ago. Hal Dunkelberger was the host.
Announcements: Plan ahead – Installation of 2016-17 Officers and Directors is scheduled for June 23, all officers and directors are urged to plan their schedule so they can be in attendance *Golf Tournament (24th annual) is scheduled for 9/12/16 with proceeds benefiting the SACF and The Selinsgrove REC. **Movie Night on Rotary Field begins 6/16 with a showing of Paddington, beginning at sundown.***The Flag display brought in about $1000. Dave L expresses thanks to Bill Clark and Tom Gates.****Earl Ferster announced we are scheduled for Gazebo Hotdog night once again in July.*****Donna Schuck noted announcement that the Selinsgrove Area Community Fund, started by the Club, has reached a million!

Golf and Rotary team moving up); Sarah Manaval (leaving eary); Mike Damiano (back after an absence); Dave Lawer (Karen, SACF, missing last week, but nobody hurt); Mike Piecuch (Alum of F&M Rugby happy they won, Flag project, Karen’s presentation) and Earl Ferster (++15 and speaker).
Future Programs:
June 23 – Installation of 2016-17 Officers and Directors. Outgoing President Mike Piecuch will share reflections on his year as President, and incoming President Mary Peterhaensel will have the opportunity to share goals for the coming Rotary year. Dottie Anderson is the Installing Officer.
June 30 – Speaker is Jamie Hill, President of the Down Syndrome Society of the Susquehanna Valley. Her husband, Steve, will also be in attendance. John Fischer is the host, Jared Roush is the greeter. SVCC, 11:45 a.m.
July 7 – NO MEETING – July 4th week.
