March 2, 2017: A dozen or so Rotarians were present as we enjoyed lunch at Vinnie’s Italian Family Restaurant in Middleburg (located in the former Cole’s Hardware) followed by a tour of Shade Mountain Winery, conducted by Amy, the Zimmermann’s daughter. We got to see areas usually not seen by customers, including bottling of William’s Port, and meeting the winery white cat, a former stray. Needless to say, several of us took advantage of the opportunity to do some tasting and buying of wines. Started by Carl and Carolyn, now all four of their children are involved in the business, and it has grown substantially since the day when Rotarians first visited when it had only been open for a couple of years.  Do visit Vinnie’s – they have done a marvelous job renovating the facility, and the private room where we met would provide a nice atmosphere for lots of gatherings.  We will be rescheduling the tour at Timberhaven as they are anxious to have us visit and are most apologetic for the need to cancel today. Thanks to Toby for making the arrangements.
