May 18, 2017: Twenty-four Rotarians and guests were present as Marv Rudnitsky hosted the Young Generations program featuring Four Way Test Speech Contest Club and Regional winner, Hannah Domaracki and Amelia Will, our outbound Exchange student. Mike Flock was the greeter. Forensics Advisor and French teacher, Britney Bunting-Specht, spoke about her appreciation of all the help Rotary has given to the Forensics Club and the students. Two of the students will be participating in the Grand Nationals forensics tournament this spring. She and her husband had the chance to visit with Fanny, our past exchange student, in April. Hannah, who will attend Messiah College in the fall, placed third in the District Conference speech contest. She presented her speech about the values of tears and crying as it relates to the Four Way Test.  Amelia, also a senior, will study in Belgium for the year as a Rotary exchange student. She shared the presentation she made during the selection process for the program. Amelia plans to become an art teach and will attend school in Baltimore when she returns from Belgium.  

Announcements:  Mallet Madness is Saturday – remember your volunteer hours for both Friday and Saturday, May 19-20. Donations still welcome.*Host families are being sought for our inbound exchange student from South Korea. Speak with Marv Rudnitsky about this possibility.**July 25 will be our Gazebo Hotdog Night this summer.***Mary and Hal are participated in the District Conference, with Mary making a presentation about the projects of our Club. Amelia and Hannah also participated in the conference. ****The Fogles’ have returned to their home from Penn Manor). *****Dave Lawer announced that the flag display will be put in place as soon as MM is completed.

June 8 – Mark and Jeanne Mantz, owners of Sweet Granny’s Kettle Corn, will be the speakers. Brian Neitz is the host. Dave Lawer is the greeter. SVCC, 11:45 a.m.

June 15 – Host John Fischer has arranged for Jane Taylor to speak about and share photos of her recent trip to Vietnam. SVCC, 11:45 a.m.

June 22 – TBA, Tom Gates is the host. SVCC, 11:45 a.m.

June 29 – Installation of 2017-18 Officers and Directors. Mary will have opportunity to speak about her year and Toby will share a bit about plans for her year as President. SVCC, 11:45 a.m.
