The Selinsgrove Rotary Club inducted two new members at a recent meeting. Jason E. Piatt, District Governor of Rotary District 7360 was in attendance to welcome G. Ryan Felty and David D. Betz as new Rotarians. Felty lives in Selinsgrove with his wife Katia and their two children. He is vice president and chief financial officer for Economics PA in Selinsgrove. Betz and his wife Theresa live in Danville with their two children. Betz is the branch manager of Janney, Montgomery, Scott in Sunbury. Members of the Selinsgrove Rotary Club held a chicken BBQ fund raiser in conjunction with the Selinsgrove Little League’s baseball tournament. Proceeds from the event will be used for various community projects. The Selinsgrove Rotary Club hosted Carrie Gilbert, Chief of Forest Resource Planning, Department of Natural Resources, Bureau of Forestry. The State forest system was established in 1898. Ms Gilbert oversees four specialists who help to manage 2.2 million acres of state forests by overseeing planting, managing and caring for trees and looking for activities that will be best to maintain and improve forest timber sales. They strive to manage our State forest under a sound ecosystem management approach. Pictured above (L to R) are Melissa Laniewski, Rotary host and Carrie Gilbert.
