October 26, 2017: Twenty Rotarians were present to hear Larney Auker speak about his experience as a volunteer with Aqua Viva Service, a sustainable clean water project of the United Methodist Church. The specific project Larney participated in was in Los Chiles, Costa Rica. This is located in the northern most part of Costa Rica is many of the residents are refugees from Nicaragua. The two wells Larney worked on were supported through a large grant from Rotary International, and the last one was the 60th well completed by Aqua Viva Service. It was quite moving to see and hear residents in a video speak about the improvement in their lives because of the ready availability of clean water. Konrad Kempfe was the host, and as our International Director, he encourages the Club to consider partnering in this endeavor or one like it. Dottie Anderson installed new member Danielle Little with the assistance of sponsor, Hal Dunkelberger.
