Next Meeting: May 3, 2018 – Dirk Remensnyder from the PA Game Commission will be the speaker. Ken Wagner is the host. SVCC, 11:45 a.m.

A board meeting precedes at 11 a.m.

April 26, 2018: Douglas P. Harbach, Director of Communications for the PA Gaming Control Board was the speaker. Hal Dunkelberger was the host. The Control Board is responsible for insuring the integrity of the casino operations. There are 12 licensed casinos in PA, with 5 “mini” ones being developed in the state to make locations more assessable to a larger number of citizens. The legal expansion is also allowing development of on line games and fantasy games. All of this has led to PA being number 2 in gaming revenue, with Vegas still at #1 and it currently represents a 6.2 billion economic impact on the state, with revenues providing a variety of tax payer relief via things like the homestead provision property tax relief, etc.  The revenues are also providing for a variety of services for those who are addicted to gambling.  Some even self-ban for periods of 1 year, 5 year or lifetime. There are currently 83,000 on the list.

John Fischer presented Rotary and SACF donation of $2,500 to Fritz Heinemann for the Inclusive Park being developed by the Russel Foundation. A plaque will be posted on the fence noting this donation.
