Selinsgrove Area Rotary Club
Make a Difference

Vol. 90, No. 45

President – Georgiann Toby Skinner       Editor – Dottie Anderson

Next Meeting: May 31, 2018 – Linda Steele from DH&L Ambulance will speak about the Yellow Dot program. Pat Pinkowski is the host. SVCC, 11:45 a.m.

May 24, 2018: Twenty-three Rotarians and guests (Jared’s “posse” from the bank – Ann Conrad, Mark Ritter, Julie Rodkey) were present as host and presenter Jared Roush, VP and Trust Officer at Northumberland National Bank, answered the question: What does a Bank Trust Division Do? This was an interesting and informative presentation. The fiduciary relationship means when one owes to the other good faith and trust and is bound ethically to operate in another’s best interests.  This relationship exists between the bank and the person in creating and managing revocable and irrevocable trusts to benefit heirs and/or charities, or in serving as the financial power of attorney or Executor of an estate.  The employees in the trust division of a bank have greater experience and familiarity with the local systems that facilitates the process of estate settlement.

Announcements: Remember to sign up for your part in the Mallet Madness fundraiser – especially think about being a referee. Pat Pinkowski circulated a call for baked goods for breakfast and coolers. There are currently 36 teams, but only 24 have submitted names of players, so please keep working on identifying players.

Golf Ball Drop date is set for Oct. 20, 2018 at noon, with possibility of lunch being held at the same time. Turn receipts and ticket stubs into John Stokinger. Donations of snacks continue to be needed for students at the REC. Snacks can be delivered between 3-6 p.m. Call Kelly Feiler if you are interested in volunteering at the Center.
