No Meeting December 27 in recognitions of the Holiday Season.

Next Meeting: January 3, 2019 – Nick Clark, Political Science Professor at Susquehanna, will speak about “What to Expect from the 116th Congress.” Host Jay Lemons made the arrangements, and Malcolm Derk will be on site host. SVCC, 11:45 a.m. 

 

Dec.20, 2018: Twenty-seven Rotarians and guests (Bill Pinkowski, Wanda Knapp, Gladys Stokinger, Dawn Miller, Cathleen Ardrey, and honorary member Bill Clark) were present for the Club’s Holiday Party which Art Bowen hosted. All, except Art?, were in holiday festive garb, with lovely poinsettia plants on the table that members were to take to someone who needed cheer. SU student Katie Rynearson, was present to play Christmas music as we enjoyed a delicious steak dinner served by Sue (we did give Sue her card and present). Katie is a Business Marketing major. A good time was had by all in attendance.

 

Announcements: Last day of Tree Fest so be sure to stop by and vote for the Rotary tree decorated by the Maneval Family, using the book Finding Nemo.*Think about people you know who would be good nominees for the Distinguished Service Award. Nominees due early in 2019.**Antonin Gaitfait, our exchange student, will be moving to his new host family – the Stumpf’s.***Pat Pinkowski reported that presents have been delivered for our Christmas Family – with plenty of toys and clothes for the two children and gift cards to Weis and Boscov’s for the parents. All are thanked for their generosity.****Cheryl reported that she received communication from an SU student who is interested in getting a Roteract started at Susquehanna and that about 30 are attending Interact meetings at the high school.

 

Sergeant at arms: Marv Rudnitsky collected one happy fine as we sang Happy Birthday to Cheryl Stumpf.

Jan. 10 – Antonin Gaitfait, our exchange student, will be the speaker, introduced by Marv Rudnitsky, Art Bowen, host.  Start of process to identify Distinguished Service nominees. SVCC, 11:45 a.m.

Jan. 24 – Dinner Meeting – Rural/Urban Night – Jared Roush is host.
