Be the Inspiration

Vol. 91, No. 25     President – Cheryl Stumpf        Editor – Dottie Anderson

Next Meeting: January 24, 2019 – Rural/Urban Night Chicken and Waffles Dinner at 6 p.m. at Christ Community Church, 3939 Park Road. Senator John Gordner is the speaker on the topic of current agricultural and farming issues in Pennsylvania. Call Jared Roush immediately if you missed signing up and plan to attend, alone or with partner or guest.

Jan. 17, 2019: 23 Rotarians and guests (Art Bowen’s guests, Matt Cravitz, attorney, and Gerald Stauffer, VP of Ideal Group Inc) were present as Art Bowen spoke about the Distinguished Service Award and its history and importance to the Club. Art read the list and shared the service to the community of previous winners since the award was developed in 1985. Dr. Robert Bastress was the first recipient and eventually he joined Rotary (he, by the way, was the Editor’s sponsor). We then divided into three groups and came up with potential nominees for this award as well as two others – the Service Above Self award for current Rotarians, and the Public Service Award. Members will now need to submit a completed nomination form to Art by March 1. Art has sent a copy of the nomination form to be completed to all members.
