Be the Inspiration
Vol. 91, No. 29 President – Cheryl Stumpf Editor – Mike Flock
Next Meeting: Feb. 21 – Club Assembly, President Cheryl Stumpf presiding. SVCC, 11:45 a.m.
Feb. 14, 2019: 21 members and Melissa’s guest, Christine Horton listened to Bobbie Jean Owens tell us about her business, Bobbie Jean Owens, Historic Preservation Services. A graduate of Bucknell University with a degree in English and History she comes from a family that has business ownership in their blood. Since 2012 she has engaged in the historic preservation of buildings throughout the northeast. She is considered a special trades contractor with the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. Most of her work comes from being invited to bid on restoration projects that range from private homes to museums and other historic buildings. She works with a group of trades people who have attained specific qualifications in their respective trade. As part of her presentation she showed a power point of some of the buildings she has worked on in the past. One such notable project was her glass work on the boat, the USS Constitution, first launched in 1797. In addition to her unique business, Owens is also a member of the Selinsgrove Borough Council and is also involved in other community organizations. She and her husband own the Wicked Dog Grill in downtown Selinsgrove.
Announcements: President Cheryl Stumpf handed out chocolate covered strawberries in celebration of Valentine’s Day.
