March 7, 2019:  Seventeen Rotarians were present for the Club Assembly with President Cheryl Stumpf presiding. A Board Meeting had preceded. The treasurer’s report noting an unbudgeted $900 plus bill for snow removal at Rotary Field for the month of January, sparked discussion. In the past the snow had been removed at virtually no cost by John Wendt. Since it is required by ordinance that snow be removed, it was necessary to contract for this service. February and March will see additional expenditures. Discussion followed about the field, its “ownership” and things like liability issues, and future budgeting for expenditures required at the field. President- Elect Carol Handlan shared the proposal form for proposing new members. She will be attending PETS this weekend. President Cheryl introduced the topic of strategic planning for the Club and asks that we all give some thought to What the Club is really good at; What the Club is doing Well; What are our challenges?  It was suggested that the Board may need to draft a “plan” that can be presented to the membership for discussion.

Announcements:  Planning meetings continue for 2019’s Mallet Madness.  All members are urged to share with any non-profits (including church, or boards you serve on) about the event and work to turn up sponsors and members for the two person teams. This year the event is scheduled for June 8. Brochures were distributed to help with outreach.*Remember to bring in batteries to fill the “Big Green Box” which enables recycling of non-rechargeable batteries. Please bring in batteries to be recycled in the plastic bags provided and place in the box that will be available at every meeting. When box is full, it will be returned to the company and recycled. If this is successful, the Board will determine if the project continues.
