March 14, 2019: Twenty-one Rotarians were present as Amy Scorsone spoke about Shade Mountain Winery. Founded by her parents, Carl and Carolyn Zimmerman, the family run business is not approaching 20 years in operation. All four of their children are involved in the business. The 70 acre plus vineyard is home to 30 varieties of grapes, and the winery produces 50 varieties of wine having started with 13. The winery was founded at a time when there were 60 vintners. They take special pride in using only PA grapes in their wines. The Zimmerman family is service minded and very generous to a variety of endeavors in the valley. We are blessed to have them in Central PA. Doug Wilburn was the host.
