July 11, 2019 – Twenty members were present for Gary Gonsar’s classification talk as introduced by host Don Summers. Gary was born and raised in Trevorton, PA and attended Line Mountain High School. He then attended Messiah College as a history and education major. While on summer vacation he ended up subbing for a 4th grade class in the Line Mountain School district and that eventually led to his being hired as an elementary teacher at Line Mountain following graduation. After 5 years of teaching, he took course work at Bucknell in counseling and developed the school counselor program at Line Mountain. After 6 years doing that, he earned administrative credentials and became school principal. He left Line Mountain for another principal job in Williamsport. He and his wife Barb have two sons and a daughter and two, with a third on the way, grandchildren. Following retirement in 2009, he joined a educational consulting firm and has served as a consultant for several school districts, including in three of the Virgin Islands. He continues to be active at consulting, his church, and golf and is a several year member of the Rotary Club Golf team. We are delighted to welcome new member Gary Gonsar.
