August 15, 2019 – Twenty Rotarians were present as Michele Hoch, Director of Agapeland Preschool, described the mission and importance of work with preschool children. Ken Miller was the host. Within a child-centered environment, Christian based the goal is to keep children happy, healthy, and learning. Founded in 1995-6 and started in 1996 with 12 children in a single classroom age 3-5. Currently there are 76 children in the program, with 3-year old’s attending two days a week, and 4-5 year old’s coming three days a week for the pre-kindergarten program. Michele joined the staff in 1999 and became director in 2008. Over 700 students have graduated from Agapeland, and Michele enjoys hearing from several as they have grown, especially mentioning two who have become teachers and then Co-Directors of the SSDC program co-sponsored by Rotary.
