Vol. 92, No. 32 – President – Carol Handlan – Editor – Dottie Anderson

March 5, 2020 – Twenty-six Rotarians and guests (Cheryl Stumpf’s guests from Career Link, Wendy Trego and Brandi Margel) were present to hear from John Shipman, Bob Zimmerman, and Executive Director Lenaire Ahlum, share information about the Susquehanna Valley Community Education Project. Following about 10 years of work, they are about to have a college partner, and are approaching the commissioners of Snyder, Union, Northumberland, and Montour Counties to agree to beginning funding. The goal is to have an operating community college by 2022. The statistics presented make a strong argument for the gains that can come from a CC that provides both technical and liberal arts education at a reasonable cost within the “T” of the state that is currently without such an option. Marv Rudnitsky was the host. A board meeting preceded at 11 a.m.
