Next Meeting – January 21 – Janel Ashburn, of Ashburn’s Animals. Kristine Horten, host
January 10, 2021: 14 Rotarians joined us via ZOOM, to hear Courtney Krick, General Manager of Aaron’s share all that Aaron’s has to offer and their place in the community. Courtney was introduced by host, Carol Handlan. Courtney is originally from Limestone, PA and currently lives in Warrior Run and has two boys ages 17 and 22. Though headquartered in Selinsgrove, as General Manager, she oversees the Aaron’s stores in Pottstown, Williamsport and Coal Township, as well, and has been with the company for 11 years. Though most people view Aaron’s as a rental store, it is much more than that. It is truly a furniture and appliance store that carries all lines of furniture (bedding, couches, chairs, tables) and appliances from TV’s to Washer/Dryers; in addition to, lamps, pictures, accent pillows, etc. You can shop there just like you would any regular store. Many come to the area for jobs, such as, Susquehanna University and look to rent and/or rent to own. In another insistence, Courtney shared a story how someone, contacted her who was selling his home, and wanted her to “stage” the house for sale. She took the task on and the house sold in two weeks. Aaron’s also price matches, so if you find something that is cheaper at another store, Aaron’s will match the price. They do financing there and have long and short-term loans/leases. Courtney stated that they work with each customer closely to fit the customers needs and abilities. Aaron’s also services all their merchandise. If furniture is returned from a lease, it is completely cleaned and sanitized. Courtney, stated she loves what she does and really enjoys the hardworking staff that she has and said Selinsgrove is her favorite store, with the best customers. Aaron’s had a Halloween Trunk or Treat event for the community and is currently offering a Super Bowl Giveaway. She invited everyone to stop by the store and see her and what Aaron’s has to offer.
