Next Meeting – February 25th –  Konrad Kempfe, host. Speaker, John Taylor, International Services (see attached bio for Mr. Taylor)

February 18, 2021: 17 Rotarians joined us via zoom for our club assembly.  President, Dan Mahoney started by sharing that the board had approved to provide a letter of support for the building of a community college in the Susquehanna Valley. A copy of the letter should have been received by everyone. He then proposed an exercise for those on the call by asking everyone to answer two questions: 1) Why did you join Rotary? and 2) What is one thing people do not know about you?  the members shared how they got involved in Rotary, a few were inspired by their parents who had been Rotarians, and a number of us were invited by other club members primarily and shared that we enjoy the work the club does in our community, internationally and being involved with like minded people. In addition, Tom Gates, shared that the Wheels in the Grove planning is moving forward; Donna Schuck, shared Mallet Madness will be held on June 12 and the committee was meeting on February 25; Art Bowen, shared the Golf Ball Drop is set for November 6 and John Fischer shared the Golf Tournament is set for September 13 and his committee will be meeting on April 15.

Announcements: 1) President Dan mentioned that the club received notice that our international dues were being reduced by 50%. 2) Dan also announced that we are moving forward on our planned events for 2021; those being the Golf Outing, Golf Ball Drop, Mallet Madness, Wheels in the Grove. 3) Marv Rudnitsky shared that the 4-Way Rotary Speech Contest will be done virtually this year on February 23 and Pat Pinkowski, Dottie Anderson and Tom Gates will all be judges.  4) Carol Handlan reminded everyone that the VFW Bacon Cheeseburger night, to benefit Rotary Field was changed to Thursday, February 25 from 5-7pm.

Sergeant at Arms:  Marv Rudnitsky provided a bit of humor. He collected happy fines from John F.
