Next Meeting – April 15 – Pat Pinkowski, host. Mark Rogers, Proprietor of Union Cellars Winery

April 8, 2021: 16 Fellow Rotarians joined via zoom, to hear our very own Donna Shuck, Co-chair of the 2021 Mallet Madness (MM) Croquet Tournament provide an overview and summary of this year’s event. The MM committee of twelve have been meeting for some time and planning the event that will take place on Saturday, June 12 on Rotary Field. The committee has set up a payment path, for sponsorships/donations, via the Community Giving Foundation – Selinsgrove. This should make it very easy to pay this year but you can still send a check, if you prefer not to pay online. Donna shared how fortunate the event is, again this year, to have an anonymous donor step up to ensure that every non-profit represented will receive at least $100. She encourages all club members to step up and either volunteer to assist the day before the event or as a referee during the event or to help solicit sponsorships. In addition to, liking our Mallet Madness or Rotary Facebook sites and sharing the posts. Donna recognized and thanked her event Co-chair, Melissa Laniewski for all of the time and effort she has put into the planning. Attached is Donna’s presentation for further details on the event.

Announcements: 1) President Dan shared that our Rotary club has authorized $500 toward the El Salvador water project and that four other club members personally added to our club’s donation. We still have a few more weeks before sending the check, if anyone else wishes to donate. Please send your check to Sarah Maneval and designate it’s for the water project. 2) President Dan also said that his goal, now that the weather is getting warmer, is to hopefully get us back to meeting in-person; be it at SVCC or at Rotary Field by the end of April.

Sergeant at Arms: Hal Dunkelberger and Marv Rudnitsky provided some humor. John Fischer collected Happy Fines from Carol (speaker, beautiful day), Donna (MM, son Brice, Melissa), Art (Donna, Isabella dinner, watching yard work being done), John F. (speaker, Tom Gates hole-in-one, beautiful day), Tom (Masters, his second hole-in-one).
